Pellowah is a high-vibrational, non-touch form of energy healing that works through the aura, on the mind and spirit. The word itself is angelic and means "radical shift in consciousness". It was brought through as a tool for expanding consciousness, and the healing people notice is really a by-product of that shift.
That's the short answer.
But if you've landed here, you probably want a bit more than a definition. So let me walk you through it the way I would if you were sitting across the table from me with a cup of tea.
Pellowah was channelled to a woman named Kachina Ma'an. It was first channelled in 2002 and first taught in 2003.
So it's young, as these things go.
The important thing to understand is why it came through. Pellowah wasn't brought in first and foremost as a healing system. It was brought in as a tool for enlightenment. For expanding consciousness. For helping people shift.
Healing comes along with that. When your consciousness shifts, things tend to rearrange themselves around the new you. Old patterns loosen. Stuck places move. That's why we call it a healing, and why people book sessions. But it helps to know that the deeper intention underneath it is awakening.
I find that changes how people approach it. You're not just coming to get something fixed. You're coming to be lifted a little higher.
Pellowah energy is extremely high-vibrational. Very fine. Very light.
It works through the aura, which is the energy field around your body, and it works on the mind and spirit. It also works from the top down. Think of it like rain falling on a garden. It comes in from above, soaks through the higher layers first, and the effects filter down from there.
A Pellowah session is non-touch. The practitioner's hands move through your aura, but they don't rest on your body. You lie there, fully clothed, and relax.
Here's something I love about it. The practitioner doesn't direct the energy. The energy directs the practitioner. My hands go where they're drawn, for as long as they're drawn there. It's less like driving a car and more like being a passenger who's been told which way to lean.
That takes the ego out of it, which is a good thing.
Within the Pellowah teaching, the energy is described as connecting and preparing 12 strands of DNA, and as clearing and realigning the meridians, the energy pathways through the body. I want to be clear that this is the Pellowah teaching, the way the system describes itself. It isn't established medical science, and I don't present it as such.
A full session generally runs about 45 to 60 minutes.
Okay, so what do people actually feel? It varies. Some people feel warmth, tingling or a deep calm. Some feel very little during the session and notice shifts in the days afterwards. Many people tell me they feel lighter, clearer, more like themselves. I can't promise any particular outcome, and I'd be wary of anyone who did. Pellowah is complementary. It sits alongside proper medical care. It doesn't replace it.
If you'd like the longer explanation, I've written more about how Pellowah healing works, and there's a gentle walk-through of what to expect in your first Pellowah session if you're thinking of booking one.
This is the question I get asked most. And it's a fair one, because they're cousins in a way.
Both are attunement-based. That means when you learn, you receive an attunement, and you can use the energy straight away. No years of study before you're allowed to be useful. You can begin working with the energy from the day of your attunement.
The feel of each is different. Reiki tends to be earthier and more physical. It uses hand positions, and it's often used for self-healing.
Pellowah is lighter. There are no hand positions, and it isn't used for self-healing. You work with it for other people.
During a Pellowah session, we don't mix in another healing method or counselling. Pellowah is given on its own, so the session stays clear and simple.
The two can sit side by side in your practice. Many Reiki practitioners who learn Pellowah say their Reiki feels clearer afterwards. If you'd like a closer comparison, see Pellowah vs Reiki. If Reiki is what you're drawn to, there's also a Reiki course in Melbourne.
Pellowah is taught in three levels.
Level 1 is the practitioner level. After Level 1, you can give Pellowah sessions to others.
Level 2 works with awareness, your Higher Self and symbols. It builds on what you've learnt in Level 1.
Level 3 is the teacher level. Only Kachina teaches Level 3.
There's no Master title in Pellowah. And there's no required wait between levels.
Within the attunement tradition, it's said that a Level 1 attunement is about 10 times a healing. Level 2 is said to be about 10 times Level 1, and Level 3 about 10 times Level 2. This is how the tradition describes it. It isn't a measurement.
At the Australian Pellowah Centre, I teach Level 1 and Level 2 together.
A Pellowah session takes about 45 to 60 minutes. It's non-touch.
You rest comfortably while the practitioner works. There's nothing you need to do, and nothing you need to believe.
Pellowah can also be given as absent healing, when the person isn't in the room. It can be given to pets and plants, with permission.
It isn't used for the Earth, countries or cities.
Pellowah is not a medical treatment. It doesn't replace care from your doctor or other health professionals.
