What Qualifications Do You Need to Practise Pellowah?
A Complete Guide to Pellowah Training and Certification

The Shortest Distance Between You and Healing

Imagine spending three years at university studying anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pathology. Then another two years of supervised clinical practice. Then sitting an exam that makes you question every life choice you have ever made.

That is what it takes to become a physiotherapist.

Now imagine learning a healing modality over a single weekend, and walking out on Sunday afternoon ready to begin practising.

That is the slightly maddening, rather wonderful simplicity of Pellowah.

Which raises an obvious question: how can something so quick to learn be any good? Surely real qualifications take years? Surely there are hoops to jump through, boards to satisfy, exams to fail and retake while stress-eating Tim Tams at midnight?

Not necessarily. And the reason has everything to do with how Pellowah actually works.

Think of it like tuning a radio. You do not need a degree in electrical engineering to turn a dial and pick up a signal. You just need someone to show you where the dial is and which frequency to tune into. The attunement process in a Pellowah course does something similar: it calibrates your energy system to receive and transmit a specific healing frequency. Once you are attuned, the ability is yours. Permanently. The radio does not forget what station it is set to just because you walked away for a week.

But even so, there is more to the Pellowah qualifications picture than a single weekend course. There are three levels of training, professional considerations, and practical steps you will want to take if you plan to see paying clients. So let us break it all down.

The Three Levels of Pellowah

Pellowah has three distinct levels of training. And the good news is that the first two are taught together, in a single weekend.

Level 1 and 2 are always taught as a combined course. Over two days (usually Saturday and Sunday), you receive the attunements that activate your ability to channel Pellowah energy, and you learn the practical skills needed to give healings to other people. There is no homework beforehand. No prerequisite courses. No prior experience in energy healing, meditation or anything else is required. You could walk in on Saturday morning having never heard of energy healing and walk out on Sunday afternoon as a qualified Pellowah practitioner.

That is not an exaggeration. The attunement does the heavy lifting. Your teacher guides you through the process, you practise giving healings to other students during the course, and by the end of the weekend you have everything you need.

Level 3 is a separate, more advanced course. It builds on what you learned in Levels 1 and 2, but its focus is different. Where the first two levels teach you to heal others, Level 3 is primarily about deepening your own personal and spiritual development. It gives you the ability to work on yourself at a more profound level. You do not need Level 3 to practise professionally, but many serious practitioners choose to do it because of the inner shifts it produces.

There is a required waiting period between completing Levels 1 and 2 and taking Level 3. This is not arbitrary bureaucracy. The energy from the initial attunements needs time to integrate fully before you layer on more. Rushing the process would be like pouring new wine into a glass that is still settling. Give it time.

What Can You Do After Each Level?

This is where people sometimes get confused, so let us be specific.

After Level 1 and 2, you can:

  • Give Pellowah healings to other people (in person or remotely)
  • Charge for your services if you wish to practise professionally
  • Call yourself a Pellowah practitioner
  • Apply for membership with professional associations
  • Obtain professional indemnity and public liability insurance

That bears repeating. After one weekend, you are qualified to see paying clients. Not after a year. Not after ten case studies and a supervisor's sign-off. One weekend.

After Level 3, you gain:

  • The ability to perform Pellowah healing on yourself (Levels 1 and 2 are focused on healing others)
  • Deeper access to higher states of consciousness
  • A more refined and powerful connection to the Pellowah frequency
  • Greater clarity and expanded awareness in your daily life

Level 3 does not give you a "higher" practitioner qualification as such. It is not like going from a bachelor's degree to a master's. It is more like going from playing an instrument well to understanding the music at a soul level. The outer skill was already there. Level 3 changes something on the inside.

No Prior Experience Needed. Really.

This is the part that surprises people most. And I understand the scepticism. We live in a world where you need a licence to drive a car, a certificate to serve a beer, and apparently seventeen passwords to log into your own bank account. The idea that you can learn a genuine healing modality with zero prerequisites sounds too simple.

But consider what Pellowah actually is. It is not a technique you master through repetition, like learning to suture a wound or adjust a spine. It is an energetic attunement. Your teacher opens a channel in your energy system that allows Pellowah to flow through you. The intelligence of the energy itself does the healing. You are the conduit, not the mechanic.

This is why a retired schoolteacher, a tradie from Brunswick, and a corporate lawyer can all sit in the same Pellowah course in Melbourne and come out equally capable of giving effective healings. Their backgrounds are irrelevant. What matters is the attunement and their willingness to be open to it.

Of course, the more healings you give after the course, the more comfortable and confident you become. Practice matters. But the raw ability? That is switched on during the attunement. It is not something you build over years of study.

If you are curious about what a healing actually feels like from the receiving end, we have written a separate guide on what to expect in your first Pellowah session.

Going Professional: Insurance and Association Membership

Okay, so you have done the weekend course and you want to start seeing clients. Brilliant. But before you print business cards and set up a treatment room, there are a few practical steps worth taking.

Professional association membership. In Australia, energy healing is not government-regulated in the way medicine or psychology is. There is no mandatory registration board for Pellowah practitioners. But joining a professional association is strongly recommended. The International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) is the most common choice for Pellowah practitioners. Membership gives your clients confidence that you have met recognised training standards, and it also provides access to insurance.

Insurance. Professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance are not strictly required by law in every state, but they are a very good idea if you are charging for sessions. Professional indemnity covers you if a client claims your treatment caused them harm. Public liability covers accidents that happen at your practice, like someone tripping over a rug. Most professional associations either include insurance with membership or offer it at a discounted rate.

Certification. When you complete a Pellowah course with a recognised teacher, you receive a certificate of completion. This is your proof of qualification. Keep it safe. You will need it when applying for association membership and insurance. At the Australian Pellowah Centre, our certificates are recognised by the IICT and other major professional bodies.

Ongoing development. There is no formal requirement for continuing professional development (CPD) in Pellowah specifically, though some professional associations require a certain number of CPD hours across all your modalities each year. Many practitioners choose to attend refresher workshops, practise regularly with other Pellowah healers, or progress to Level 3 training as part of their ongoing growth.

The bottom line: the barrier to entry is low, but taking professional practice seriously means doing a small amount of admin to protect both yourself and your clients. It is not onerous. An afternoon of paperwork and you are sorted.

Choosing the Right Teacher

Your Pellowah qualifications are only as good as the teacher who gives them to you. And this matters more than you might think.

The attunement process is not like reading a textbook. It is an energetic transmission from teacher to student. The quality of that transmission depends on the teacher's own connection to the Pellowah frequency, their experience, and their ability to hold the space properly during the course.

So what should you look for?

Experience. How long has the teacher been practising and teaching Pellowah? How many students have they trained? Someone who has been teaching for a decade and attuned hundreds of students is going to provide a different quality of attunement than someone who completed their own training last month.

Lineage. Pellowah was channelled by Kachina Ma'an. Teachers who can trace a clear lineage back to the source, with minimal generations between them and the original teachings, tend to transmit the energy with greater purity. Think of it like a photocopy of a photocopy. The closer you are to the original, the clearer the image.

Ongoing practice. A good teacher is also an active practitioner. They should be giving regular healings and continuing their own development, not just teaching courses and collecting fees.

Reviews and reputation. Talk to past students. Read testimonials. A teacher's reputation in the Pellowah community tells you a lot about what to expect.

At the Australian Pellowah Centre, Jeremy O'Carroll has been teaching Pellowah for over 15 years and is one of Australia's most experienced Pellowah teachers. The Qualification That Keeps on Giving

Here is something worth sitting with for a moment. Most qualifications depreciate. A marketing degree from 2005 is largely obsolete. A software certification from three years ago might as well be written in hieroglyphics. Even a medical degree requires ongoing education to stay current.

Pellowah qualifications do not work like that. The attunement you receive is permanent. It does not expire, it does not need renewing, and it does not become less effective over time. If anything, the opposite is true. The more you practise, the stronger and more refined your connection to the energy becomes.

So when you sit down and think about the return on a single weekend of training, it is really quite extraordinary. For two days of your time, you gain a lifelong ability to help people at a deep energetic level. You can build a professional practice around it if you choose, or simply use it to support the people you love. Either way, the qualification is yours forever.

And if that sounds too good to be true, well, maybe come along to a course and find out for yourself. The Tim Tams are optional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior experience in energy healing to learn Pellowah?

No. Pellowah Level 1 and 2 require absolutely no prior experience in energy healing, meditation or any related field. The attunement process activates your ability to channel Pellowah energy regardless of your background. Complete beginners and experienced healers learn side by side in the same course.

How long does it take to become a qualified Pellowah practitioner?

Pellowah Level 1 and 2 are taught together over a single weekend. After that weekend, you are qualified to give Pellowah healings to others. There is no lengthy apprenticeship, additional coursework, or supervised practice hours required before you can begin.

Do I need insurance to practise Pellowah professionally in Australia?

While not legally mandated in all states, professional indemnity and public liability insurance is strongly recommended if you intend to charge for Pellowah healings. Membership of a professional association such as the IICT typically includes or facilitates access to appropriate insurance cover.

What is the difference between Pellowah Level 1 and 2 and Level 3?

Level 1 and 2 qualify you to give Pellowah healings to others. Level 3 is an advanced course focused on deeper personal and spiritual development, enabling you to work on yourself at a more profound level. Level 3 is not required to practise professionally. Learn more about how Pellowah healing works.

Is Pellowah certification recognised internationally?

Yes. Pellowah certification from a recognised teacher is valid internationally. The International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) recognises Pellowah as a modality, and your qualification allows you to practise in any country where energy healing is permitted.
